Geometric forms have been used in religious art and architecture, while modern spiritual movements often add broader metaphysical interpretations.

Start with the concrete

Geometry is mathematics. Geometric patterns also appear in art, architecture and religious design. Calling a pattern “sacred” generally refers to the religious or spiritual meaning people attach to it, not a separate branch of mathematics.

Common study mistake

Do not jump from “this pattern appears in a sacred setting” to “this proves a universal metaphysical law.” Historical use, mathematical properties and spiritual interpretation are different kinds of claims and need different evidence.

How to go deeper

Study a specific building, manuscript, tradition or period. Concrete examples produce better understanding than collecting decontextualized diagrams from social media.
